Finding Happiness

I have to confess my feelings about winter. I don't like to complain, but I really hate winter. I hate the cold, the darkness, the snow, the ice...
I don't like being so negative so I try each year to find the beauty and the fun in the long, dreary months from November to March.
This year should have been the hardest to find the good. This year was bitterly cold, overwhelmingly snowy and exceptionally long.
 But!

I actually enjoyed it this year. The snow forced us to slow down and stay home. At least, to stay in our neighborhood. I took more photos this year than I ever have before. We had so many snow days where we could sleep in, go sledding, walk to the neighbors' for movies and games etc.
And I get it.
I get why some people love it.

Now though, I'm ready for my favorite season---- Summer!!!

Sometimes the photographer gets to be in the photo! Especially if she has a great husband to shoot it! 

It's all in the details

One of my favorite parts about photographing a wedding is documenting the details of the day. The couple spends so much time planning the personal touches that make their day unique. I am always amazed at what each couple comes up with!

June is for weddings!

June is the month for weddings! I have limited my wedding photography lately-since I am working full-time during the school year, I want to spend time with family and friends during the summer weekends. But I do make time for one or two a year. It is a crazy, fun, fast event to shoot. Everyone is full of happiness, nerves and of course stress. But in the end it is all smiles and fun.

Photos always seem to look better when taken in the summer!
